Serial (RS232) to USB Keyboard Converter Cable

Serial (RS232) to USB Converter Cable is made to connect any serial device to any operating system as a Keyboard. It is operating system agnostic and it works on PC and MAC. It requires no driver installation and no external power source as it draws the power from the USB port of the computer it is attached to.

For example the converter cable can convert serial output from an RFID reader, a Barcode reader, a scale or a payment terminal to keyboard codes, making the software implementation much easier and more consistent. The converter cable eliminates the need to install any device driver or a keyboard redirector software, simply plug it in and any serial input will become a keyboard input.

There are other functionalities implemented in the Converter cable firmware that allows more sophisticated operations to be performed:

The Converter cable has extended Keyboard controls allowing the Automation Engineers, to control PC functions by sending upper characters into the cable. For example sending a character 181 into the serial end of the keyboard, will invoke function key F1 on the PC and so on.

The converter cable also has limited bidirectional capabilities allowing the use of certain hotkey on host keyboard to send a command string to the RS232 device.
